Saving America – Part II

He was so shocked by what he saw that he couldn’t stop looking at the computer for about 5 minutes. He kept scrolling the document up and down until everything he saw makes sense, because the penny hasn’t dropped yet. While he was walking through the paths of the internet, he found a private network leading to a core that connected several computers around the globe, all the information was encrypted, but for him it was kid’s stuff!

Among all the bytes being transmitted, there was a document named curiously: Threaten to America. He opened it and read:

“Unlocking the power of the sub-atomic world is now the most powerful weapon we could ever use. America will no longer be the same after our threaten. Everything shall be done by surprise. People will suffer and die, but it will be enough for the government to realize they are not as powerful as they think, and also to see we are not useless. Here are the locations:

  • Seattle, WA: 47.612029,-122.337673
  • Los Angeles, CA: 34.051522,-118.251582
  • Austin, TX: 30.324564,-97.713715
  • New York, NY: 40.758806,-73.979146
  • Miami, FL: 25.78829,-80.36476
  • Boston, MA: 42.348193,-71.080884
  • This location will be hidden until the last minute (the “president” is in charge of this place)

All the attacks will happen at the same date and time: 8/10/2011 2:00 PM (GMT -4:00)”

America was one week before the worst attack ever, and he really didn’t know what to do! He felt like crying, shouting, jumping but he couldn’t, he was shocked. He thought about talking to the FBI, CIA, the President! But at the moment, even walking was a difficult thing to do. He had the document, but he didn’t have the authors. He tried to track the server, but an error message always appeared. He said: “That’s a work for the CIA to do.”

He called 911 and told them everything, the bombs, the document, the locations and said he wanted to talk to the CIA man in charge of this kind of cases. When 911 transferred the call, he talked to Mike Smith, the CIA man in charge of that, and explained how he got the information (he did not care about hacking, he knew that he would be protected). Mike immediately asked the Federal Police to pick him up at his house and bring him to the CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia.

He quickly putted some clothes in his suitcase and the laptop in his backpack and waited for the police to arrive. Ten minutes later, he already was in the FBI airplane ready to go to Virginia. When the plane took off, they started a video conference with the CIA, when he showed the document and told them about the untraceable server, while providing the IP address of the server. At the moment, it was enough. They finished the video conference and he took a nap. He woke up in Virginia.

The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is approximately 20 minutes away from the CIA headquarters by car. But the roads were partially closed to them, it was a cause of National Security, it took them 10 minutes to arrive there. Joe passed the whole week there, working with the people responsible for the case. The locations they had made it easy to find the bombs and deactivate them, but the unknown last place was probably the one that would cause the worst aftermath for America.

They spent the whole day analyzing the server and trying to find out where’s the last bombs planted. There was a lot of probabilities, but if it was hidden, there’s certainly something to do with the government: Washington, DC. Was it really right?
