Saving America – Part I

It was once again a cold day in Boston as it has lately been and this is kind of funny because during the wintertime people usually know by heart what the weather-man is going to say. The scenes of Joe’s graduation party were still echoing inside his mind since he graduated in Computer Science from college last month, that was quite an accomplish in his life, but that seemed not to be enough. You can blame this lack of jobs problem that’s bothering America and the people who live in it!

Before breakfast Joe usually goes running around Boston following the Charles River course until the Harvard campus, then he comes back. Some problems started occurring to him while he was running. First, his iPod fell into the river. Second, when he tried to pick it up it was his turn to fall into the river. Third, when he got out of it, the iPod wasn’t working anymore (he could save it, or half of it) and both of them were was soaking wet.

Joe got terribly angry and started shouting at everyone until getting home. He took a shower just to take all that pollution out of him and then sat in front of the computer and started playing his favorite game. The first victim was the CIA computer network: you bet that’s quite a game for him. Then, the Treasury Department in D.C. and finally the grand finale: FBI headquarters network! He was so angry that he didn’t realize the police could be a minute away from his house and getting closer!

Suddenly, somebody outside his house yelled: “FBI! OPEN THE DOOR!”. He heard it, but he had to erase all the evidences in his computer, so, in order to gain time he said: “NO! It’s cooler when you break in!*“. As expected, 5 seconds later the door was broken right in the middle and at least four guys wearing black clothes with shotguns entered in looking for him. As a good hacker, he rapidly ran some scripts in his computer and changed a lot of configurations that it became impossible to prove it was him who was hacking the FBI network.

Joe really could do it before one of the guys arrive in his bedroom in the first floor. This guy really rocks! He came back home after an hour spent in the Boston Police Department building waiting for the cop to let him go (after seeing he wasn’t responsible for the attacks) and started hacking more and more networks. Joe didn’t even know the owner of some of them, he was only walking through the paths he discovered. Then, he found something really, really strange and scary!
